To keep our attendees and staff safe, COVID protocols have been implemented for the Gateway to Solar conference. Below is more information and answers to questions you may have about this announcement:

Know before you go:

  • All attendees (including speakers, sponsors, attendees, staff, Board members, and hotel staff) will be required to show their COVID-19 vaccine card or a negative COVID test from no more than 72 hours prior to arrival. A photo of either will also be accepted. Please come prepared with proof of your card or test.
  • MnSEIA Board members will be verifying cards and tests upon check-in, and you will not be able to pick up your name tag until someone verifies your card or test.
  • Masks must be worn throughout the conference hall at all times, except while eating. Speakers will be allowed to remove their masks while presenting.
  • Please stay home if you are experiencing COVID symptoms or have had contact with a COVID positive person.

Questions you may have about our COVID-19 protocols:

Q: Should I send a copy of my vaccine card to you before the event?

A: No. MnSEIA Board members will be checking COVID vaccine cards and COVID tests upon check-in. Please do not email MnSEIA a photo of your vaccine card or test before the conference.

Q: Will a photo of my vaccine card or negative test be accepted?

A: Yes, photos of either will be accepted.

Q: Where I can get a COVID-19 test?

A: Please visit the Minnesota Department of Health's COVID test finder page to find a local testing site near you. Please be prepared to show proof of your negative results upon check-in.

Q: Where can I get vaccinated?

A: Please visit the Minnesota Department of Health's vaccine finder page to find a vaccination site near you. Learn more about the COVID-19 vaccine on the CDC's webpage.

Q: What if I cannot get vaccinated due to medical or religious reasons?

A: If you cannot get vaccinated for any reason, you will need to present a negative COVID-19 test from no more than 72 hours prior to arrival.

Q: If I'm already vaccinated, do I also need to present proof of a negative COVID test?

A: No. If you are vaccinated against COVID-19 we will not be asking for proof of negative COVID test results. Of course, if you are concerned that you may have COVID or recently came in contact with a COVID positive person, please get tested upon your discretion.

Q: What if I already bought a ticket but do not want to adhere to the COVID protocols?

A: Please email conference@mnseia.org to discuss your options. Please note that we will only be able to make adjustments for you until October 1st. After October 1st you will have to forfeit your ticket.

Thank you for your cooperation and for doing your part to keep everyone safe. The safety of our attendees, speakers, sponsors, staff, and hotel staff are of the utmost importance to us. Vaccinations and wearing a mask will help us ensure a safe in-person event.
