MnSEIA Calls for a Responsible Conclusion to “Operation Metro Surge”

ST. PAUL, MN — The Minnesota Solar Energy Industries Association (MnSEIA), representing more than 160 member organizations and the over 5,000 Minnesotans they employ, calls for an end to  “Operation Metro Surge” and a responsible draw-down of federal agents from Minnesota.

Our members build, operate, and maintain energy projects across the state, and we take deep pride in our diverse workforce — people of many backgrounds who power Minnesota’s clean energy economy and strengthen our communities. Today, our members, their families, and the communities where we work are living with disruption, uncertainty, and violence.

This operation has resulted in tragic loss of life, including the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti – losses that are devastating and unacceptable. These deaths demand accountability and make clear that the current scope and tactics of federal operations cannot continue.

Minnesotans have endured a tumultuous year. They deserve peace. As do the memories of Renee Good, Alex Pretti, and all those we have lost. MnSEIA calls for a swift and responsible conclusion to “Operation Metro Surge” so families, workers, and communities can return to the shared work of building a thriving state and clean energy economy for all.
