When the new Xcel Solar Rewards “Solar Energy Incentive Program" is approved by the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission it will offer incentives and rebates for installation of photovoltaic solar panels that are not included in the Made in Minnesota program.
New Solar Rewards extends the $5 Million a year program allocation to five years from 2014 with the same eligibility requirements as old "Solar Rewards" and a shift from a nameplate capacity rebate to performance based incentives. These incentives are aimed at the residential and small commercial markets.
Solar Rewards will be administered by Xcel, pending approval from the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission. The program should be available in Summer of 2015.
