Headshot of Kelley Benyo

2019 Ralph Jacobson “Ralphie” Award, bestowed posthumously on October 22, 2019

Kelley Benyo graduated from the University of Iowa with a BS in Zoology, and a minor in Music. Additionally, she earned two AS degrees for orthopedic assisting, and one from Dunwoody College of Technology for Electrical Construction. Kelley also completed the Union Apprenticeship program to become a Journeyman Electrician, then progressed onto Master Electrician. Kelley focused on renewable energy, and completed NABCEP Certification for Solar Installation and Technical Sales. She co-owned EcoVision Electric, and most recently worked for Hunt Electric. She designed commercial solar field and large rooftop arrays.

Kelley lost her battle to metastatic cancer in July of 2019.  Kelley leaves a legacy of friendship -- and the lessons we have learned from her -- to pass forward for the integrity of the Solar Industry.  We are grateful for having known her and celebrate her contributions to our renewable energy landscape.
