2017 MnSEIA Non-Profit Partner Award Winner
The Clean Energy Resource Teams
The Clean Energy Resource Teams - or CERTS as most energy geeks know them-are a statewide partnership with a mission to connect individuals and their communities to the resources they need to identify and implement community-based clean energy projects. They empower communities and their members to adopt energy conservation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy technologies and practices for their homes, businesses, and local institutions.
MnSEIA values the consistent and meaningful work that CERTs does for the industry and Minnesota.
2017 MnSEIA Rising Star
Representative Erin Maye Quade, 57A
In her first year in office, Erin Maye-Quade defined herself as a clean energy advocate. Born and raised in Apple Valley, Erin Maye Quade has deep roots in her community and is uniquely qualified to bring our values to the legislature. Before being elected as state representative, Rep. Maye Quade worked in both the public and private sector to help families achieve economic security and get ahead. As a State Representative, Erin is fighting for productive policy change driven by people. Erin is the chief House author of the 50% renewable energy standard and also co-authored both of MnSEIA's 2017 bills. She defended the Made in Minnesota program diligently, lead the opposition against the cooperative fees bill and is already one of the solar industry's strongest advocates.
MnSEIA values the hardwork and committment that Erin has shown and looks forward to future collaborations.
2017 MnSEIA Partner Award
Ellen Anderson, Director, University of Minnesota’s Energy Transition Lab
Ellen Anderson has worked diligently over the course of her career to help transition Minnesota's energy system to the future. Ellen served for 18 years as State Senator and also served as Chair of the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission. She has received numerous awards for her work, for good reason: Ellen's long track record of energy policy leadership in Minnesota led to her co-authorship and passage of Minnesota's leading energy laws, including the Renewable Energy Standard and the Next Generation Energy Act. These laws directly influence and support solar businesses across the state. Ellen continues to educate Minnesotans in her leadership role at the University of Minnesota Energy Transition Lab (ETL). MnSEIA is a proud member of the ETL's Minnesota Energy Storage Alliance (MESA), a focal point for innovative solutions and through leadership on energy storage.
Through this collaboration with Ellen, MnSEIA sees a positive pathway toward Minnesota's energy storage future.
2017 MnSEIA Member Volunteer Award
Randy Moberg, Energy Services & Solutions Manager, Werner Electric
Randy joined Werner Electric in 1994 and worked in multiple roles from Sales to Management. Randy became engaged in the solar market in 2010 providing product solutions to the local solar community. He is active in MnSEIA and CEEM as a board member. He also invests time in his community by volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, Feed my Starving Children, and other local non-profits. Randy's commitment to the MnSEIA Midwest Gateway to Solar Conference has resulted in new and innovative ideas that have made the conference a stronger and more robust event.
MnSEIA is proud to recognize Randy's dedication to the Midwest Gateway to Solar Conference and his service as a Board Member.
2017 MnSEIA Excellence in Minnesota Solar Leadership Award
MnSEIA recognizes the Chisago County government’s leadership and vision in crafting proactive solar development policy resulting in economic growth and investment in renewables. MnSEIA recognizes that the County has done an excellent job of balancing the needs of developers, landowners and citizens resulting in successful installations of the 100 MW North Star Solar Project plus parts of the Aurora Project and Community Solar Gardens.
MnSEIA values the hard work and commitment of the residents, leadership and staff of Chisago County for setting such a great example for MN.
